The Energy
Federation of New Zealand (EFNZ) has signed-off. Thanks for
everything...
From 1
January 2013, BusinessNZ and EFNZ are joining to form a new
organisation, the
BusinessNZ Energy Council (the ‘BEC’). The BEC
will operate under its own branding, and with its own management
committee, but will be governed by the BusinessNZ Council and will
no longer be a separately instituted incorporated society.
The
BEC is expected to be a powerful collective of companies and other
organisations representative of the New Zealand economy focusing on
sustainable development of energy resources. As a merged entity and
with growth plans, the BEC will be a powerful advocacy group in
support of consistent and well-structured policies that underpin New
Zealand conditions and the goals of the BEC and the WEC.
The
BEC will be the New Zealand Member Committee of the World Energy
Council (WEC). All BEC members will automatically be members of the
WEC.
The
World Energy Council (WEC), based in London, is a global, multi-energy organization with significant
support from private companies, public utilities, governments,
academia, and prominent individuals in close to 100 countries,
including all of the major energy production and consumption
markets.
